Hillston is known for its very long, straight main street. With the Lachlan River on its doorstep and two parks providing picnic areas right down to the river’s edge plus exceptional facilities, the town becomes a great place to stop and linger.
Black Stump Hotel, Merriwagga
The Black Stump Hotel is a beautiful old pub full of character and charm. There is a vast display of various paraphernalia and it’s definitely worth a visit.
The Red Dust and Paddy Melons Gallery and Visitors Centre
located in the main street, showcases the paintings, sculptures and craft work of the Hillston Creative Arts Council. Much of it has been inspired by the unique flora, fauna and scenery of the area.
